Journal of Law and Politics

Home

The Journal of Law & Politics is published three times annually by students at the University of Virginia School of Law. The Journal is the first and only nonpartisan publication devoted exclusively to examining the interaction between law and politics. Founded in 1983 under the guidance of then-Circuit Judge Antonin Scalia, this interdisciplinary publication consists of articles, essays, and commentaries by scholars, practitioners and national political leaders.

The Journal has been cited by the Supreme Court of the United States, Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, D.C., and Federal Circuits, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the supreme courts of Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Massachussetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and a dozen lower federal and state courts. In addition, Journal articles have been cited thousands of times in academic articles and anthologized in a number of books.
